The current theme for the Conservation Department is “Conserving in the Twenty-First Century.” The Conservation Department will be organizing activities to explore nature, enjoy the outdoors with our families, and celebrate conservation.
Activities:
- Celebrating Energy Awareness Month
- Participate in a water conservation project
- Work for endangered species
- Recycle used toys
- Participate in a community clean up
- Distribute seed packets or flowers to senior citizens
- Recognize Arbor Day and Earth Day
- Assist at the Friends for Animals Shelter
Other events include:
- Sparta Glen Restoration Spring 2002 – We will assist with the grand re-opening and re-dedication of the Glen in Spring 2002.
- Animal Tracking – Conservation members will go to a local state part to search for animal tracks in the snow.
- Centerpiece Making – The Conservation group will provide the Junior Woman’s Club Christmas Party with birdhouse centerpieces this year.
- Winter Frolicking – Conservation members and other juniors will get together to sled, hike and play in the snow.
