Completed applications need to be printed, mailed and postmarked by May 1, 2008. Incomplete application packages will be immediately disqualified from judging as will any applications postmarked after May 1, 2008. Please submit the following three documents: 1. Completed scholarship application which includes the two (2) tables - community service and extra-curricular activities and written responses to the two (2) brief essay questions. If it is easier, please type right on the forms and then print them out.

JWCS Scholarship 2007 The membership of the Junior Woman's Club of Sparta was pleased to award the 2007 Junior Woman's Club of Sparta Scholarships to graduating Seniors Angela Parriott and Amber Mauriello. The recipients were honored at a luncheon and received award amounts totaling $4,000 towards their post-secondary education. The club scholarship was established to assist students who exhibit a strong academic record while contributing to their community through volunteering and service. The 2007 winners were chosen from a large pool of candidates who qualified for the award. Angela Parriott is attending Stevens Institute of Technology and plans to study engineering. Studying at Rutgers University, Amber Mauriello plans to major in Education or Psychology. Both of these young women have had successful academic careers at Sparta High School, in addition to, performing extensive volunteer work in our community. "These students have set a perfect example for our youth today", adds Junior's Club President, Kathleen Piwko. "Angela and Amber truly represent the mission of our organization." Junior Woman's Club Selects 2006 Scholarship WinnerThe Junior Woman's Club of Sparta awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Janet Hazekamp. Her selection as the 2006 scholarship winner was based on her excellent grades, involvement in extracurricular school activities and spirit of volunteerism. Hazekamp graduated from Sussex County Technical High School. Her academic achievements include membership in the Spanish National Honor Society as well as the National Honor Society. She also had the lead role in the school production of "The Butler Did It." Hazekamp received Most Valuable Player on the tennis team as well as Student Athlete of the Month and has volunteered for many organizations including the Food Drive for Hurricane Katrina and has helped with fundraising for the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. She has also volunteered for many years at her church. Hazekamp will be attending Houghton College in Houghton, New York this fall. She is thinking about pursuing a degree in High School Education.
