The Junior Woman's Club of Sparta is pleased to announce the granting of three scholarship awards each in the amount of $1000 to a female student from a Sparta high school. Interested applicants should know the awards will be based on service to the community and school involvement. Written expression and academic achievement will also be considered . A hard copy of the completed application needs to be postmarked by May 1, 2010. Incomplete application packages will be immediately disqualified from judging as will any applications postmarked after May 1, 2010.
Please submit the following:
1. Completed application including the two (2) tables - community service and extra-curricular activities and your responses to the two (2) brief essay questions. Download application: 2010 Application.doc 2. One letter of recommendation from a high school counselor, teacher, administrator, work supervisor, or community service supervisor. 3. A copy of your high school transcript.

Sparta Day is a rain or shine vendor fair and family festival that has become not only a fundraiser for local charities but also a much anticipated community event. There is also a designated area of "Kid's Country" consisted of free rides, activities and demonstrations for children of all ages.

12th Annual Festival of Trees
December 4 & 5, 2009
This year marks our 12th year of our Annual fundraiser Festival of Trees. The Junior Woman's Club of Sparta would like to thank the many people responsible for making it a huge success. It was a beautiful community event and a successful fundraiser benefiting C.U.R.E. (Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy) http://www.cureepilepsy.org/.
This year, Festival of Trees was held at the Lake Mohawk Country Club, so we thank everyone there for all their help. We would also like to thank J. Thomas Jewelry & Gifts for donating a sterling silver pendent with .24 diamond, made by a New York designer, Leslie Green, for our raffle. Their continued support of this event each year is greatly appreciated. The Preview Gala was made extra special this year because of the generous sponsorship by Albino, Ullman & Laemers Attorneys At Law & Karl's Appliances . The delicious desserts were provided by BJ's Wholesale Club, Costco, Cafe Pierrot, Everything Homemade, Stop & Shop & Truffles.
For Saturday's Fun Family Day, we had wonderful enterteinment provided by local businesses, including Dance Academy of North Jersey, Mad Science, Cornerstone Playhouse, Kindermusik with Kelly, Dance dimensions by Michelle and Biryukov Academy of Art & Music. Thank you for all the sponsorships and donations of time and services.
