L'il Tykes Hike

For children ages 5 & under.  Share the afternoon with your little one in the Great Outdoors on this naturalist-guided, 1-mile hike.  Important: All babies must be carried in a front-pack or back-pack.  No strollers or older siblings please.

The Nature of Halloween

For adults and children ages 6-12.  Let's investigate the natural history of this magical season then scare up some fun on a "spooky" scavenger hunt outside.

The two events listed above are being hosted jointly by the Homelife and Conservation Departments.   Both outings are held at Kittatinny Valley State Park.   The events are free but pre-registration is required.   Please call 973-786-6445 to register.   Any questions contact Kathy or Karen.

Lentini's Corn Maze

Date:  Saturday, October 24 th (Rain date: Sunday, October 25th)    Time:  1:00PM       Cost:  Adults $9, children $6 (under age 3- FREE)

Things to do:  picnic table & food available, smaller hay maze, U-pick pumpkins, pumpkin painting, farm animals and hay rides. Remember:  No strollers, comfortable shoes and proper coats (depending on the weather).   Contact Kathy or Judy for additional information.   Sign up at the October meeting.

Apple Baking Contest

During October many of our members go apple picking with their families, friends, scouts, school trips and more therefore our department decided to pass on the picking and focus on the eating.   We want you to put all those apples to good use so we are going to kick off the JWCS 1 st Annual Apple Bake-Off at the November meeting??so get cooking?it should be FUN!   Call Kathy or Sheila with questions.

Halloween Party

Tuesday, November 3 rd -    JWCS Children's Halloween Party- 4:30-6 in the library lower level.   Wear a costume and join us for games, crafts, pizza, snack?.and more!   $5 per child.   Sign-ups at the next meeting.   See Kathy for details.

Play Groups

Some members have inquired about playgroups for their young children.   There will be a sign up at the upcoming meeting to gauge interest in this activity.
