Happy New Year everyone!
First, I'd like to thank Anne Fowler, Maura Beranek, Sheila Dolan as well as all the other volunteers who helped with Wish Tree 2009. Due to the overwhelming support and generosity of our community, we collected 395 gifts for a total of $5,665, helping DYFS to grant many holiday wishes.
Additional thanks go to Anne Fowler for organizing our trip to the Gingerbread Wonderland at Frelinghuysen Arboretum on December 12th. Who would have thought so many elaborate creations could be made out of gingerbread and candy. It was truly fascinating to see.
Thanks to our gracious hostess, Kathy Derringer-Ryerson, the Holiday Cookie Exchange on December 21 st was an enjoyable, and tasty, evening out. Everyone had a wonderful time.
The Art department already has several activities planned to start off the New Year so make sure to look for our sign up sheets at the January meeting. There's a Scrapbooking Night planned for January 21 st at 8:00PM. We'll be meeting at Anne Fowler's house. In addition, there's an opportunity for anyone who's interested in learning to knit with a Knitting Class. What better time of year to try your creative abilities at making a hat or scarf. Details regarding date and time will follow. Looking toward February, there will be a Valentine's Party, in conjunction with Home Life department, as well as a night at Expresso Yourself.
Please remember, if you take any pictures at a JWCS event, please share them with the Art Department in one of the following ways:
Upload digital photos to www.shutterfly.com or www.cmphotocenter.com and use the "share" feature on these sites to send them to Anne Fowler at annefowler@threeboys.org
If you have only a few digital photos, you can email them to Anne at annefowler@threeboys.org
Bring printed photos to any General Meeting and give them to Anne or myself. Please indicate at which event the photos were taken.
If you share your JWCS photos as soon as you get them printed or uploaded, it's easier to work on the President's Album as the year goes along. Thanks for you help!
